I'm sorry I haven't sent updates previously. Skotch is such a sweetheart and we get compliments all the time on his appearance and temperament. He loves kids, adults, dogs, cats (we have one)... basically everything. He is such a joy to have and was exactly what we needed in our lives! He is a super happy dog and we realized we should have named him "wiggle butt" because it's not just his tail that wags, but his whole backside!
Skotch was the star student in his obedience class and has been super easy to train (once we got past the whole puppy mouthing stage!). On day 1, when we got him home, he bonded immediately with our family. He never seemed stressed about leaving Melody and his siblings. The picture with him and the keys (which we call his "keys to the kingdom" picture) is from the first day we got him home. We started out taking him to "puppy parties" where he got to meet and socialize with other puppies. It's funny because there has been another goldendoodle, Tucker (the darker one in the picture), at the puppy parties and the two of them love playing together. You can see in the picture that they are both worn out (and super dirty) from having a blast playing together.
At 3 months we were able to start training him on our invisible fence. He did great and loves being outside (although he is a bit of a digger - really his only fault!).
He goes to doggie daycare about 3 days a week. He loves his time there and comes home utterly worn out. The workers love him because he is so easy going and gets along with all of the other dogs.
Skotch is now almost 6 months old and and about 35 pounds. He is really tall with long legs - just like his mom Melody (and I think Phoenix too, although we didn't meet him so I'm not sure). We're very curious to see how big he'll get since he was the largest in his litter and both parents were around 60 pounds.
I've attached a series of pictures to show his progression. He recently got groomed although we normally keep his coat a little longer so that he isn't quite as curly.
Thank you for breeding such great dogs. We love our Skotch-a-doodle!!
